The Smurfs
The Smurfs are a familiar pop culture phenomenon, with their own movies, tv shows, and even theme park rides. But where did they come from? The Smurfs were created in 1958 by Belgian artist Peyo, who originally intended them to be nothing more than supporting characters in his comics. However, the Smurfs quickly took on a life of their own, gaining popularity both in Belgium and internationally. In 1981, the first Smurfs cartoon was aired, and it was an instant hit. The lovable blue creatures have been charming audiences ever since. So the next time you see a Smurf, take a moment to appreciate the rich history behind one of pop culture’s most iconic creations.
All Schleich models comply with relevant safety regulations and have also all CE tested and approved.
